And the Dog Barks On Some More…
Of course, there’s always something, like rats under the floorboards… but with his settled-in new home, his “man’s best friend”, the affection (let’s not say love, let’s not go there) of a successful woman, it’s not just “quiet”; has Eric found his new normal?
But then, well… what’s “normal” these days?
People around Eric are changing every day, starting over, remaking themselves ~ reimagining themselves in ways once unthinkable… there are new norms all over America now.
New norms amongst the old, the familiar with the new, a girlfriend and ‘alternate’ dating sites, all mixed in together as the story of starting modern American life over, a 21st Century Adult Fairy Tale, continues; And the Dog Barks On Some More…

I have thought before that life has gotten all jumbled up and we don’t have straight lines through society any more so we have to reframe the way we decide tolook at relationships and love, and marriage, and this book basically does thatall in itself without making all the decisions for us but by giving us a view ofwhat it is like to live in a world without a rigid order when all we want is to beourself and we should be grateful for that.
I have enjoyed everything I have read from E. P. Lee and this was no exception.
If you like this author you will not be disappointed.
This is the story of a man and his dog. Or more accurately a man, his dog and his thoughts (the man’s thoughts that is!!!) The story is a great tale of what isolation can do for the mind and how memory and thought can machinate to great effect.
How does Lee keep churning out new books that retread important themes without feeling dated?
Bravo my friend, top work.
Modern life is not normal. Normal is not modern life. EP Lee gets that. This book gets that.
